## Product boundaries

- The Closets4all demo is anonymous, synthetic, browser-only and session-local.
- A signed-in user receives a private Free workspace with bounded usage during the alpha.
- CSV and XLSX source files can be previewed and profiled.
- Raw rows do not move into Firestore. Source files, governance metadata and compact quality results have separate storage boundaries.
- AI provider secrets stay server-side.
- AI can draft dictionary content, glossary terms, relationships and quality checks.
- Every AI result is a draft or suggestion and requires human review.
- Controlled SQL quality checks are read-only and validated server-side.
- Approved quality rules can be scheduled and monitored.
- Data lineage, complete reviewer separation and persistent exception assignment are roadmap capabilities and must not be described as fully shipped.
- During the alpha, users must not upload sensitive, confidential or regulated company data.

## Core concepts

Data dictionary: technical descriptions of tables and columns, including types, formats, key roles and governed definitions.

Business glossary: workspace-level business concepts with definitions, calculation logic, stewardship and links to tables or columns.

ER relationships: field-level structural links between governed tables. Suggested relationships remain visually distinct until a person confirms them.

Data quality rule: a business expectation with rationale, dimension, severity and executable logic that returns records requiring review.
